THE 8 ARCHITECTURAL WONDERS OF DUBAI

When it comes to buildings and wonderful architectural design no country does it better than Dubai and a very good example of their wonders is the Burj Al Arab Hotel. With all the wealth they have as a nation I guess it only normal for them to embark on all these architectural marvels that would leave the rest of the world in a stand still.

I know Qatar proposed to build stadiums with air-conditions for the world cup which I think is mind blowing but what Dubai is about to do people is literally out of this world and under the waters. A Tennis Court under the water, I mean I have heard of underground tunnel, underground houses even underground prisons but an Underwater Tennis Court, please tell me that isn’t out of this world. It was this news that made me dig deep and I discovered that when it comes to architectural brilliance and out of this world building, it can only be in one place Dubai!!!!! Here are the 8 architectural wonders of Dubai
  1.    Helipad Tennis Court
This is located at the top of the Burj Al Arab Hotel and when tennis stars like Roger Federer and Andre Agassi visited Dubai, the helipad was converted into a tennis court which was1,053 ft. in the air. Golf superstar Tiger Woods also used it as a driving range I can’t even imagine how many people must have gotten hit by a golf ball that day, a good thing I wasn’t there.
  2.     Burj Khalifa Skyscraper
The Burj Khalifa skyscraper is the tallest Man-made structure in the world, standing at 2,722 ft, now tell me isn’t that just spectacular.  This masterpiece of a building took off in 2004 and got completed by 2009 and was opened to the public 4TH January 2010.
3.     Largest Shopping Mall In The World
This Mall is so big that it comfortably contains a public aquarium with 33,000 marine animals and a 76,000 sq ft inside and also an indoor amusement park now isn’t that just magnificent. It is said to also be the home to the world’s largest candy shop which is put at 10,000 sq ft. if you really want to see things that are bigger than I guess Dubai is the right destination for you.
4.     The Palm Islands
There are many natural Islands and also some Man-made island too but this one is an architectural brilliance. Imagine a Man-made Island that is packed to the gills with hotels and resorts, forming the shape of a giant palm tree and you have imagined The Palm Island in Dubai. What could be more insane than that?
5.     The World Islands
If you think the Palm Islands was mind-blowing then tell me what to call this, A Man-made Island that is design to look like the map of the world. It’s like the competition for the most impossible structure is clearly between Dubai and Dubai.
6.     Indoor Ski Resort
This is located inside the Mall of the Emirates which is also home to a 500 seat theater and arts center. The Ski Dubai like it is called is an indoor ski resort with a 278 ft snow covered mountain. Note that this is a different Mall from the one I mentioned earlier.
7.     Chillout Ice Lounge
We all know how cruel the heat in Dubai can be, so how do you cool down when you live this ridiculously close to the sun? The answer is simple visit The Chillout Ice Lounge, where it is so cold that visitors are issued thermal wear to prevent hypothermia. I know you would say that is too much of a cold, well welcome to Dubai were too much is just business as usual.
8.     The Burj Al Arab Hotel
This needs no introduction as it is one of the beauties that behold Dubai. Remember that tennis court in the sky that I spoke about? Well it sits on top of this sail-shaped hotel, which itself sits on a man-made island just off the beach. Why on earth would you leave the coast of a bench and decide to build on its waters, because it is Dubai!!!!

So there you have people, the 8 architectural wonders of Dubai, please don’t forget to take me along with you whenever you decide to visit any of these place, I wouldn’t mind at all.
