STRANGE TOWNS IN AMERICA

America is a popular country that consists of fifty states and load of towns. The fact that it is one of if not the most popular country in the world has made us conversant with some of its towns name, such as Brooklyn, Queens, Houston e.t.c below are some very strange names of some towns in America we might have never heard before.

•         Accident, Maryland

This is a very small town in Maryland and the truth is that history has not been able to tell us the origin of the name but left to me I would say it was named by accident.

Just like the people of New York are called New Yorker, the people of this town are called “Accidentals”, strange isn't it?

•    Why not, North Carolina

From what I could gather, there was a lot of arguments over what name should be giving to this town and from the argument someone said “Why not name the town Why not and let’s go home? And just like that the town was named. If you ask me I would strange indeed!

•       Truth Or Consequences

This town is said to be a very popular because it is a spa area, it was originally named Hot Springs but was changed after a radio contest for a show with the name Truth Or Consequences. I guess in this town you have to say the Truth or face the Consequence.

•         Hazard, Nebraska

It is known that the word hazard represent something dangerous and from what I was able to gather the town got its name from that because there was something dangerous in or around the town. Am guessing this won’t be a friendly neighbourhood so keep off friends. 

•         Hell, Michigan

When a friend tells you "I am from hell", you don't need to scared or start thinking that the person is a devil because Hell is a town in Michigan. The most common theory of how this town got it name is that of an argument which ended with the statement “you can name the town Hell, for all I care”. So who is ready to go to hell?

•       Mosquitoville, Vermont

Who says there are no mosquitoes in America, that person hasn't been to Mosquitoville in Vermont. History made us believed that as at when this town was named, it had abundance of mosquitoes.
