ADELEKE LOVE STORY: EXTENDED VERSION PART TWO

Any form of secret can ruin a relationship but depending on how you reveal your secret, it might just be the saving grace you need to push your relationship further. 

It was the secret that Tutu revealed that led to her unexpected marriage with Gbemi, since Gbemi didn't utter any word to her after she told him what happened she was of the believe that she had lost him that it was a matter of time before he say the word. That why It came as a surprise after Tutu had finished explaining herself to Adeleke and Gbemi spoke in support of her, she wasn't expecting him to speak at all let allow support her and this was when she began to have hope that he might still be interested in her.

When Gbemi told her that he was going out that she should get some rest after she had told him what happened, Gbemi actually went to clear his head and think about the whole situation. Yes he just realised how shady Tutu past was, but that was what it was past, the Tutu he loves is not the same Tutu Adeleke dated and just like they say when you are in love nothing else matters. He kept himself in Tutu’s shoes and tried to imagine what he would have done if he was in that position and that when he decided to forgive her and still go ahead with his plan of marrying her. His imagination about what he would have done if he was in Tutu’s shoes was this; “I would have just assumed that Adeleke is the owner of the pregnancy since he was the last person I slept with”. After his whole thought he was able to convince himself that what Tutu did was the right thing to do as at then because he felt giving another man’s baby to another man to father with the man not knowing that the baby isn’t truly his would be the most wicked and cruel thing a woman can do. “Finding out the real father was the best thing you could have done” he said to her after they got home, “I have considered it very well and because I love you, I have also decided to forgive you and move on with our relationship” he added. Just like he had planned it before he found out about Tutu’s past, it was on her birthday that he proposed to her and just like they say the rest has now become history.

For like six month they didn't get in touch with each other, she wanted to call him but she was afraid of what he would say so instead of calling she kept on sending him series of sms. Every time he receives a sms and he sees that the name of sender is My Heart he would simply delete it without even going through the message. Adeleke never thought she could keep something like that away from him after everything they had been through. He had always been truthful with her he never kept anything away from her no matter how bad or what the consequences was going to be he would say it. Like this one time that he went to the club with his friends while he was serving, he got drunk and had sex with another girl and the affair went on for like three month before calling it off. He knew the consequences of telling her this but he did because he truly loves her and he didn't want to keep anything away from her, like excepted they fought but she later forgave him and things went back to normal.

It was from that moment that she saw the baby Tutu came to drop in Adeleke room that she has been considering on telling him the truth about her past but she never saw the right time to reveal her big secret to him. From the moment Adeleke saw the baby there relationship took a different direction though it was a direction she was hoping for but the problem was that that direction didn't leave room for her to reveal the fact that she was once married with a kid and the divorce hasn’t gone through. She would have told him from the beginning that if she had thought she would date him but she never intended dating him so when they started dating she never thought about telling him till the baby came into the picture.

Adeleke shared everything Funmilayo told him about her past with his elder brother whom was very helpful with the matter, “I know you must be feeling very betrayed but I want you to consider the fact that she still told you the truth, she didn't allow it to come out in your face the way Tutu did” his brother said. “I would advise you to forgive her because I know she truly loves you plus you guys have been through a lot and she had stood with you all through and that says a lot about the love she has for you, just talk to her and see how you guys can move past this” his brother added. “If you free this girl e go pain me ooo because a girl like her is hard to find trust me” his brother wife whom was with them said. He took his brother and his wife advice and he went to talk to her, when she saw him she wasn't expecting it and didn't know what to say, “would you invite me in or should we just stay here and talk” Adeleke said to her. Immediately he got in and sat down, he went straight to the point, “I know you are surprise that I am here because you weren’t expecting me but that is that, let me go straight to the reason why I am here” Adeleke said.

“I have used this past months to think about what you told me and what I should do and I have decided to forgive you and move on with the relationship, you are a very good girl and you have stood by me when I was also having issue and a girl like that is very hard to find. Though I now understand why you could take care of the baby without any problem but still I appreciate everything you have done that why I know that the right thing to do is to stand by you and help you with your divorce”. “I have spoken with my brother and he has promised to help with your divorce so we can be together forever” he added. When Funmilayo had the words be together forever she looked into his eyes as she didn't quite understand what he meant by that. “Yes we are going to be together forever” he said again right before he fell on his knees and propose to her. she couldn’t believe her eyes, she felt after he had ignored her for six months and showing up on her doorstep he was going to call off their relationship instead he is proposing. She was so shocked that she just sat looking at him as tears began to run down her eyes, “Yes Yes Yes” that was all she could say as her cry intensify.

Just like Adeleke brother had promised he was able to help Funmilayo with her divorce with her ex husband, he didn't stop there he was also able to convince the judge to grant Funmilayo the full custody of the child that there short union was blessed with. After the divorce came through and Funmilayo was able to reconnect with her daughter after four years, she and Adeleke began their wedding plans and like the say the rest became history.
