From the moment
I heard their first collaboration I knew these two were going to be perfect
together I mean who thought Yoruba rap and Igbo rap could blend together the
way they made it sound. After the successfulness of Ghost Mode these two heavyweights
rappers decided to enter the studio again and this time the result was Dope
Money which by my standard was an upgrade to Ghost Mode and right there I knew Olamide
and Phyno had formed a musical bond as they continue to appear on each other
album and even on other artiste songs.
With songs like
Obagoal, Yayo, Alobam (my favourite) just to mention a few Phyno has out grown
been that shy producer to a fearful rapper and as for badoo I just have one
word to describe him Beast. Four
albums within the space of four years, collabos everywhere you go Olamide is by all means the most hardworking and
consistent rapper the industry would ever see.
When the news
broke out that these two rap beasts would realise a project together I knew the
outcome was going to be monstrous. On the first of April some singles from
2KINGS surfaced online and I immediately got the two songs that were available
and after listening to the two songs I knew the 2KINGS album was going to be a
hit. Few hours into that day I was able to download the whole album and after
listening to it I was literally blown away. Olamide once again showed us how
versatile he can be switching from English to Yoruba while Phyno also reminded
us why you couldn’t just mess with him when it comes to the Igbo rap. After
listening to this album critical I have the boldness to compare it to that of
R.kelly and Jay-Z best of both words ,
Omarion and bow wow Face Off I am
proud to say that 2KINGS is a world class project by all standard.
With songs like
Carry me, God be with us, Cypher , Real Niggah and Nobody’s Fault just to
mention a few this album would end up been the best rap album of 2015 and would
go down as one of the best rap/collaboration album in Nigeria.
