WHERE ARE THEIR PARENTS?

It been close to 8 months since the abduction of over a 180 young girls in a town called Chibok in Borno State, who am sure had a future and a dream but that has now been taking away from them. The government have said and made a lot of promises concerning the safe return of the Chibok girls (that what they are now called) but as the year comes to an end today I’m hoping the story of these girls won’t also come to an end.

Considering the fact that next year is an election year every attention will be on how and who will retain power at different levels of government and am sure nobody will be focus on how to rescue these girls expect those that will only mention their names in their campaign just for political benefit.
Don’t expect me to go into what should be done or how it should be done because I honestly don’t know, I can only say as a concerned citizen I will continue to pray for the safe return of these girls even duo looking at the situation critically it’s my opinion that these girls will never return in the right state of mind because they have literally been through hell, so I just urge every concern Nigerians to continue pray for these girls.
Now to the main reason for writing this article, if there is one thing we know for sure about Nigerian parents it is the fact that they don’t joke with their offspring most especially when it comes their welfare. Now this brings me to the question that I have been cranking my brain with and I would like to ask you my maybe you can help me provide an answer. Where are the parents of the Chibok girls?
From the beginning of the struggle of #bringbackourgirls to this very moment, I have heard and I have read about how a lot of people, groups, activists and even organizations(both home and abroad)  have been voicing their support by putting pressure on the government to make sure these girls are not forgotten but what baffles me most is the lackadaisical effort that the parents of these girls are showing or should I say the nonchalant attitude been portrayed by them towards the safe return of the children. The fact that I haven’t read it or heard it anywhere were something was said about the parents of these girls makes me wonder what is really going, I would be lying if I say that within the first two months of their abduction the parents of the Chibok girls didn’t express their pain and anger over the abduction of their girls because they actually did but after the supposedly alleged 100 million naira that were given to them as compensation I don’t think I heard or read anything again concerning the parents of these girls. Please free feel to tell me when last you heard that one of the parents of the Chibok girls said something about their children. Every day I hear all sort of news like some people protesting naked in a state about a local government election, some people refusing to go home because the governor of a state didn’t pay the players of certain team but not for once did I hear something concerning the parents of these girls.
This is Nigeria where everybody like to shout just to be heard, where some newspapers will print all sort of stories so people will always want to read (no harm intended) and this why it amazes me that the parent of these girls have refuse to continue to voice out their pain and displeasure over the abduction of their girls unless they are saying something and the press is not letting it out which I seriously doubt they (the press) will do or could it be that the parents have accepted their faith that their girls won’t come home again if so let stop bothering the federal government and just take it as the 8th world wonder.
