He has Performed here twice already, one time as an invited act the other as a guest artiste, each time outliving the other, He never had his own host night. July 25th 2015 is going to be a different ball game entirely as BabaFemi a.k.a Silicon leads a team of amazing stars down from the heavens to the 4th Surulere Artiste Night.
Since the Exclusive Silicon Ballad EP listening party in February 2014 held at MaP Lounge Ago-iwoye Ogun State which was an historic achievement put together by BabaFemi’s team (Gleamglean), glowing appreciation garnered as many tagged it “A Classy, first of its kind type of event ever held in that region”. His insatiable quest to become a musical god wanted another platform to work within Lagos which is the hub of the Nigerian Music Industry.
He kept working on new materials, performing at various shows, appearing on several red carpet events and also braving the odds challenging himself to explore different cadres of my creativity. Then like a bolt from the heavens the songs came roaring like hungry lions in his head. Sticky his long time producer and friend laced beats upon beats and they recorded a few (some even still incomplete as you cannot rush greatness) at Frank D’nero’s (cure my craze crooner) studio. For the first time since recording the Silicon Ballad EP in 2013 He felt he truly had a grasp on his ever dynamic style of music.
Contemporary Hip Hop and rap with a Jazz infused sonorous voice created a fine blend of Afro Hip Hop in the street inspired anthem How Market? Depicting the daily struggles of a youth in today’s society and at some point bound to get you chanting How Market? Thoughtful lyrics carefully orchestrated on a fiercely engaging Sticky produced beat, every listener already tagged it an amazing monster hit if properly promoted. It is billed to launch on iTunes and other musical outlets July 21st which is also BabaFemi’s Birthday.
What other bigger platform is there to mount on his rise to greatness in His musical Career if not with the Fresh Sounds inspired Surulere Artiste Night?
But then Again the Real Question is “Wouldn’t You Rather Be There than to Hear?
