POEM: IDENTITY

Man is dead when he has no identity
Man dies when he has an identity

Death brings to people calamity
Yet it is acceptable because it is inevitable
It is their identity that is put on the obituary
So I pleaded for an identity
They made me a bee but I couldn't sting
They turned me to a bell but I couldn't ring
I was drawn as a tattoo yet I wasn't seen
They made me a peacemaker but I was mean
They wanted me to teach but I had no knowledge
They dreamt I will be a doctor but I couldn't go to college
They said I hated kids how could I be a mother
I joined the army wow I became a solider
My station was right across the border
A trick their mind decided to play on me
At last I found my calling
It ended mine and began their suffering
Peaceful is now my state of mind
They would cry cause I won't be kind
They would have a lot to lose and everything to gain
They should be scared of my new found identity
If they set goals to distract them mentality
If making it in life becomes their objectivity
Taking that life away is my responsibility
It is an event they won't be able to prevent
I will bring calamity to them
Yet they would accept me cause l am inevitable
My identity would lead to their obituary
I am not man I cannot die
With my identity I am immortal
I am DEATH
