Technology has definitely come a long way and it has
indeed made our life easier. For me I am still expecting that day I would be
able to cook and eat directly from the internet (lol), doesn't seem likely you
would say right? but with the way technology is going we can never say never.
No matter how crazy an idea might seem; one thing we should never do is to
underestimate the power of technology. Below are lists of some technology
development you never thought was possible.
1.
Social Media Garment
With this who needs a phone to connect to Facebook, “Ping”
is the name of the Garment and what it intend to do is to help you connect to
Facebook. With the use of gestures, you can update your status and it would
send you a notification with a "Ping" or a tap on the shoulder.
I have started saving up for this Garment though there
is no word on if or when it will be released, at the same time I wouldn't want
to be left out when it is finally released.
2.
LED Shoes
This shoe was actually introduced in 2013 and it was
designed to lead you to your destination. All you have to do is to connect the
shoes to your laptop using a USB cable, use a map to outline your required
destination then upload this information to the shoes.
You will have to click the heels of the shoe 3 times
to activation the GPS and the LED lights would lead you to your destination. No
more asking for direction, your shoe shall be your guide.
3.
Twitter Bra
Not really happy that this bra would not be in the
market anytime soon if at all it would be in the market. Imagine your
girlfriend tells you she is in a class and the next thing you see on her
twitter page is "shade just unhooked her bra......”. I am sure she
would need more than just explanation. The main concept behind this was only to
raise awareness about Breast Cancer prevention.
This brazier would be connected to a Smartphone and
once you unhooked the bra, it sends out a tweet with the message “Shade has
just unhooked her bra! When you do the same, don’t forget about examine
yourself.”
4.
Dream Inducing Head band
Do you dream and when you wake up you can't just seem
to remember the dream? Well I have good news for you; the Dream Inducing Head Band
made by Aurora is what you need. The Head Band tracks your body movements and
brainwaves while you are asleep in order to detect when you are dreaming. Once
this is done, it gives you audio and visual clues that makes you aware of the
fact that you have started dreaming and with that you can try to control and
enjoy the dream.
5.
Wearable Phone Chargers
This product would sell very well in Nigeria as we
practical carry our charger around with us just so that we can charge our phone
at any available eclectic outlet we see. Some of us even tend to carry a
multi-purpose socket just in case there isn’t enough space but with the
Vodafone range of denim shorts and sleeping bags I would say we don't have to
go through all those stress anymore. The jeans and sleeping bags would use body
heat and movement to generate electricity to charge your phone. You will never have to worry about conserving
your battery or trying to gain access to any electrical outlet you see because
all you need to charge your phone is YOU!
The prototypes were tested in 2013, so keep your
fingers crossed for when it would be released.
