ROBOT POLICE

Basically I fear for the day that technology would replace man, the rate in which the world is going am guessing it only a matter of time. That been said, I was surfing the internet when I came across what might be another technology breakthrough, Robot Police, yes you heard me right.

I know we have seen things like this in movies such as IROBOT, ROBOCOP just to mention a few but very soon in Dubai there would be Robot Police, did I hear you say science fiction? Well it might seem like it now but with the vast wealth that a country like Dubai possess making such technology wouldn’t be a problem.

The Dubai police force is seriously working on introducing robots to shopping malls and other public areas in just two years time. Colonel Khalid Nasser Alrazooq spoke about this at the security conference in Dubai, he said “The robots will interact directly with people and tourists, they will include an interactive screen and microphone connected to the Dubai Police call centers. People will be able to ask questions and make complaints, but they will also have fun interacting with the robots.” He added that “These will be fully intelligent robots that can interact with people, with no human intervention at all. This is still under research and development, but we are planning on it.”

My question for them is what happens when this Robot starts to malfunction just like the one in the Robocop movie or what if the Robot gets infected with a virus? I seriously hope it won’t beat or punish someone to death.
